National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week

When I told Rick that our county animal shelter had made a plea on Facebook for donations of badly-needed dry dog food, he decided to go shopping. This was the result.

    Are there any cats in the shelter?

      There are cats – and other small pets. Being a somewhat rural county, they also sometimes have horses and other livestock. Unfortunately, they seem to have an overabundance of dogs, many of them pit bulls or large dogs, whose owners no longer can or want to care for them.
