Get Outta Here!

The White-breasted Nuthatch seems to be a rather meek little bird until it sees an interloper. Then it goes into this formidable threat display, spreading its wing and tail feathers and rocking its body back and forth.

    Cool capture, I am glad to see the Nuthatch stand up for itself and the feeder. I am a little upset with the House Sparrows taking over my feeders lately.

  29. I’ve always loved their territorial display. Their feathers look so pretty fanned out. You did a great job capturing it!

  30. Sparrows are afraid of no bird! When in peril, they bring in reinforcements. I guess this one was just waiting for his friends to come on in. Cute title.
